LOWER BACK PAIN

exeter chiropractic clinic treating back

This has become one of the most common reasons for people to take time off work and therefore it is no surprise that this is the number one reason that people come and see us! Research has shown that most of us will experience back pain and its complications in our lives. For some of us this will go on to become a chronic debilitating condition.

The lower back or spine has two jobs, to move and give you flexibility and also to protect your spinal chord. Because the spine needs to move it is made of many individual parts, the bones or vertebra, the intervertebral discs, ligaments, tendons and muscles. All of these parts work together to support and move the spine. Bad movements, lifting injuries or poor posture stress parts of the spine and can cause mechanical problems to develop.

Chiropractic has been shown to be one of the most effective treatment options for low back pain in a number of clinical trials over the years and is now included in the NICE guidelines for your GP to follow when recommending care options to you.

A chiropractor will perform a thorough examination to accurately diagnose the cause of the problem and determine the best treatment options for you.
